The Smart Choice campaign in China has just successfully completed the first e-commerce promotion of EU pork, which started on the 29th of March and until the 17th of April. This time we collaborated with Epermarket a well-established, trusted, and recognized e-commerce platform based in Shanghai with self-operated logistics in Suzhou, Kunshan, Hangzhou, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Huizhou and Dongguan. They are very well known for their wide variety of imported products all with high quality and great promotional reach.
During this marketing effort, a banner including the characteristics of EU pork was displayed together with the offering of superior quality pork meat cuts. Different presentations of ribs, loin, belly and collar plus a great selection of hams were prepared to be enjoyed by the clients. The Eperkitchen ready-to-cook recipes offered Portuguese-style Pork Rib Stew and Roasted EU Pork Ribs with Pineapple.
There was an increase of sales thanks to the promotion against previous months and we could notice that the most popular products during this were mainly the 100gr and 50gr packs of serrano ham and the ribs as a whole piece and chopped that are the perfect match for Chinese traditional dishes.
Regarding social media, there were different channels providing information through videos and articles recommending recipes of a variety of cooking styles, the largest amount of consumers learnt about the products through Epermarket’s website and mini program, both providing an easy way to know the product’s origin and characteristics, plus a convenient and safe delivery service.
