On August 27th, 59 industry professionals, including professionals from the meat industry, importers, distributors, retailers, chefs, and restaurant owners, gathered at the renowned Hotel Melia Hanoi for an exclusive European pork tasting event. The evening featured a blend of European and Vietnamese culinary styles, with five dishes that showcased various cuts of premium pork from Spain. Guests also enjoyed a pairing of Spanish and Portuguese specially selected for the occasion.
The event began with a ham carving demonstration, where a master carver shared insights into the traditional methods, its history, and the production process for European ham. Following this, two chefs performed live cooking demonstrations, showcasing the preparation of each dish. Meanwhile, a third chef explained EU pork’s distinct characteristics and high-quality features.
The five-course menu included:
- Pork Collar Spring Roll
- Pork Secreto in Kho Quet Sauce
- Braised Pork Rib with Lotus Root & Seeds
- Wok Tossed Pork Presa
- Pork Belly Caesar Salad.
