From 1 to 14 November, a selection of restaurants in Ho Chi Minh City hosted a two-week promotion featuring dishes prepared with high-quality pork from Spain and Portugal. The activity offered diners the opportunity to explore European flavours through menus crafted to highlight the versatility and culinary potential of EU pork.
The promotion began on 1 November with an opening event at Madame Lam, where 60 guests indeed attended a curated tasting experience. Attendees enjoyed a live ham carving demonstration, followed by a short presentation on the characteristics of EU pork and the main cuts included in the menu. The chef also introduced the dishes and explained the inspiration and preparation techniques behind them.
Throughout the two weeks, four restaurants participated in the promotion: Casa Maria, Casinha, Madame Lam and Clay Saigon. Each venue designed a special menu that showcased the quality and variety of pork from Spain and Portugal, highlighting how different cuts can be used creatively across a range of preparations.
The activity contributed to raising awareness of the variety of cuts available from Europe and highlighted how chefs can maximise flavour and texture across different types of dishes. Diners were able to enjoy memorable meals while learning more about the characteristics that make EU pork a reliable and high-quality choice for both home cooking and professional kitchens.
