The EU Pork, the Smart Choice campaign will make its presence known at the WOFEX Manila Exhibition 2023, which is recognized as the largest and most influential agriculture and food show in the Philippines. Having successfully completed 22 editions, the exhibition has attracted in its last edition an attendance of over 51,600 individuals and hosted more than 1,000 exhibitors. Notably, the show boasts a broad national reach within the specific target audience of pork professionals.
As part of the campaign, the pork associations of Spain and Portugal will take advantage of the dedicated booth space to educate professionals and offer engaging activities such as small presentations and degustation. This will serve as an ideal platform to celebrate and highlight the value-added attributes of EU pork. Both member states of the European Union are actively seeking to enter not only the food processing sector but also the retail market in the Philippines. This expansion is driven by the anticipated growth in demand, resulting from increased consumption and improved household incomes within the country.
In anticipation of WOFEX, it is worth noting that Philippines media has already reported the participation of INTERPORC [1](Spain) and Filporc [2] (Portugal) as the two EU member states actively involved in the EU Pork, the Smart Choice campaign. Their objective is to promote the exceptional quality of pork originating from Spain and Portugal. The 23rd edition of WOFEX is scheduled to take place in Manila from August 2 to 5, providing an opportune moment for these activities and engagements to unfold.
