Over 240 chef trainees from four different cities across China will participate in the upcoming EU Pork masterclasses in cooperation with New East Cuisine cooking school.
New East Cuisine cooking school was established in 1988 in Hefei, Anhui province. It now has over 40 branches of cooking schools across China, including main cities such as in Beijing, Tianjin, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Dalian, Haikou and etc. They have more than 2000 experienced chefs working in different programs, creating a solid teaching team, as well as thousands of students yearly across China and professional facilities on each campus to provide the best training available to the future chefs of China.
The masterclasses will take place in Chengdu, Dalian, Hefei and Guangzhou, and will be divided into a common theory class, and small group practical classes. Per city, the distribution would be as follows:
- 1:15 hours theory masterclass on the history, key merits and uses of EU pork.
- 2:15 hours practical masterclass on the use of different cuts for European cuisine and with smaller groups for a better experience.
- 2:15 hours practical masterclass on the use of different cuts for Chinese cuisine.
- 2:15 hours practical masterclass on ham carving.
With this activity, the students will have an in-depth understanding of the characteristics of EU pork, both at a theory and practical level, allowing them to become informed chefs and make purchasing decisions on the best quality and safety standards.
