The EU Pork, The Smart Choice campaign continued its successful series of masterclasses for the second time, hosting two events in Vietnam with a total of 93 participants. These masterclasses, once again held in collaboration with the A Au Vocational Guidance Corporation School, took place first in Ho Chi Minh City on February 27th, attracting 42 enthusiastic attendees, followed by another session in Danang on March 6th, with 51 participants.
The events kicked off with a theory session, where professional chefs shared insights into the unique characteristics of EU pork from Spain and Portugal, as well as the details of different cuts, emphasizing the strong trade relations between the EU and Vietnam in the pork sector.
After the theory session, participants moved on to the hands-on practice class. Divided into smaller groups for a more personalised learning experience, they explored various cuts of EU pork and their applications in both European and Vietnamese cuisine. The highlight of the day was a tapas masterclass led by a professional ham carver, where chefs learned the art of preparing ham tapas.
The success of these masterclasses highlights the growing appreciation for EU pork in Vietnam and its potential to shape culinary practices and purchasing decisions among professional chefs. This second round of events further solidifies the campaign’s impact and the strong partnership between the EU and Vietnam in promoting high-quality pork products.
