This September and October, professionals from China, Vietnam, and the Philippines will be travelling to Europe as part of the EU Pork, The Smart Choice campaign. These three delegations will take part in a series of technical visits designed to provide firsthand insight into the quality and standards behind European pork.
Each group will include importers, distributors, and key industry stakeholders from their respective countries. The activity aims to strengthen their understanding of the entire European pork production process.
Participants will visit farms, slaughterhouses, and processing facilities in Spain and Portugal, where they will learn more about areas such as animal welfare, food safety, traceability, and sustainability. These visits will help highlight the strict regulations of European production and the factors that ensure consistent product quality.
Through direct interaction with local producers and technical experts, attendees will be able to explore opportunities for cooperation while seeing in detail what sets European pork apart in terms of reliability, safety, and flavour.
These trips form a key part of the campaign’s efforts to connect with Asian markets and support professional audiences in making informed decisions when it comes to sourcing pork from the EU.
