INGREDIENTS
500 grams pork shoulder
Skewer sticks
2 stalks of lemongrass, minced
3 red shallots, minced
3 garlic cloves, minced
½ white onion
2 tbsp condensed milk
2 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp honey
1 tbsp fish sauce
1 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp chicken bouillon powder
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Wash the skewer sticks and place them in a pot of boiling water to sanitize them completely. This trick also helps prevent the skewers from burning.
2. Slice the pork into 2-3 mm thick slices, and then mix the pork with all the ingredients listed above. Leave it to marinate for about 2-3 hours. However, it is best to marinate it overnight in the fridge. This allows the pork to fully soak up the delicious flavors that are essential for your perfect grilled pork skewers.
3. Thread the pork onto the skewer sticks by piercing the skewer through one end of a meat slice, rolling the meat around the skewer, and securing it by putting the skewer through the other end. Do not roll the meat too tightly or put too much meat on the skewer.
4. It’s grilling time! Place the skewers in a preheated oven at 200°C/392°F for 30-40 minutes. After 20-25 minutes, turn the skewers so that the meat cooks evenly on both sides. The skewers will taste best if you grill them over charcoal fire.
5. Voila, Enjoy them hot and fresh!
