The sixth China International Import Expo (CIIE) took place from Sunday, November 5th till Friday, November 10th. It has received acclaim from foreign leaders and officials for its contributions to providing business opportunities to global enterprises, fostering international trade and cooperation, and promoting global economic development. A key participant of this year’s edition was “EU Pork, The Smart Choice” campaign, drawing attention and commendations from dignitaries, including ambassadors from Spain and Portugal who paid a visit to the campaign’s booth.
Visitors to the booth were treated to tastings of high-quality Spanish and Portuguese meats, and cold cuts such as chorizo and ham. Complementing the tastings were captivating cooking demonstrations featuring traditional and fusion dishes. The activities on site also included ham carving, providing a unique experience for attendees.
The culinary showcase featured an impressive selection of dishes, blending the best of Chinese, Western cuisines. From Sweet and Sour Pineapple Pork Belly to Salt and Pepper Portuguese Ribs with Garlic, the offerings reflected the versatility of EU Pork. Western delicacies included Sous Vide Spanish Pork Collar with Prune Sauce, and Pan-seared Pork Loin with Chimichurri Sauce and Fried Shallot, while Tapas enthusiasts could savor Roasted Asparagus wrapped in Serrano Ham and Serrano Ham with Bourbon Pickled Cranberry and Cheese, among others.
With 60 square meters, the campaign’s booth stood as a focal point throughout the expo, strategically designed to showcase the different cuts of EU Pork and emphasize the distinctive characteristics of the meat. Interporc and Filporc, seized the dedicated space to educate professionals through engaging activities. Professional carvers and chefs were in charge of ham carving demonstrations, cooking showcases, and tastings of ham and pork dishes, providing a platform to celebrate and underscore the value-added attributes of EU pork. The campaign at CIIE served to showcase the excellence and versatility of EU Pork on the global culinary stage, especially in the Chinese market.
