Hefei hosts the first regional competition of our annual 2022 EU Pork cooking contest. In collaboration with New East Cuisine School, ten professional chefs from Hefei’s hotels & restaurants join together to show us their amazing cooking techniques.
The competition is divided into three regional classification rounds and one final. During the first three rounds, five chefs prepare Chinese cuisine dishes, while five others focus on European-style cuisine, and a winner from each style is announced to move on to the final in Qingdao!
The classification rounds are:
- Hefei: 24th of September
- Guangzhou: 29th of September
- Qingdao: 28th of November
The two best dishes are selected by the jury in each of the competitions to move along to the final competition.
Three to five expert judges carefully select the winners from each round. Dishes are scored to a maximum of 100 points:
- 20 points based on hygiene
- 20 points based on texture
- 20 points based on taste
- 20 points based on dish explanation
- 20 points based on plating
After careful deliberation, two winners for each round are announced and look forward to compete in Qingdao to win the title of EU Pork Ambassador, which will lead to further collaboration with the campaign.
